My father
used an 8mm silent-movie camera to create family movies starting
in the 1950's. With five children, he had plenty of action to
film. He also was the shutterbug in the family, snapping black and
white photos for our albums. My mother started taking photos in
her youth, documenting life on a farm in southern Minnesota, and
continued snapping throughout her life.

My oldest brother John was also a professional photographer.
This family heritage, and
the good memories it created are the source of my desire to create
meaningful memories for your family to enjoy.
I started film-making
in 1974 during high school, and have gone through several
generations of camcorders: VHS, 8mm, Hi8 and now miniDV.
My love
of photography started in the 1980's, at first with a simple point
and shoot 35mm,
moving to SLR, and in 2000 making the jump to digital SLR. Today
I work with the Canon 20D a 35mm digital camera with 8.2 megapixels as my primary
and the 10D with 6.3 megapixels as
backup. See more of my equipment.

My local Fuji lab uses Noritsu
equipment and the traditional silver halide development
process to create stunning prints up to 12x18. For larger
prints I use an online service which has Kodak equipment.
As a member of
the WPPI and PMPA my goal is to continually improve my
photography through
education, mentoring, critique and experience.
My family and Christian faith are
central to my life. I became a Christian in 1975, and have been married since 1982. God has
blessed us with six, lovely children: Betina,
Jonathan, Josiah,
Alexander,
Annie, Zechariah. Our children love their pets: Huey, Selah and Emma.
